She joined the AMA in April 2024, as their inaugural Chief Health Equity Officer. WebAletha received her Master of Science in Social Work MSSW in 1981 from the University of Arlington, Arlington, Texas. She studied psycho-dynamic and behavioral therapy and did four years post graduate training in gesalt and transactional analysis supervision with Marriage and Family Therapists.
